Nazmin Shah

Nazmin joined the UCSF Respiratory Care Family in 2008. During her tenure, she has earned expertise in caring for adult, geriatric and pediatric respiratory patients within both; inpatient and outpatient care settings. She maintains an active leadership role in smoking cessation counseling and preventative maintenance education for patients diagnosed with COPD.
As a personable communicator, Nazmin aims to guide patients on effective health management post discharge, through education and counseling sessions to patients with pulmonary diseases, admitted at UCSF.
Nazmin has served as a UCSF COPD Transitional Care Coordinator since 2018. She is a strong advocate for smoking cessation counseling, and has attained her NCTTP certification in 2018, with the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. Nazmin is also a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist with the Mayo Clinic since 2015
